上海・浦東(Pudong)国際空港に集まるタクシーは浦東地区に行きたがらない。
ある時、中国人上司が先に上海に入り後から向かったが、タクシーに乗り金橋(Jingqiao)のホテルを告げても嫌な顔をしない。
良心的なドライバーだ、と思ったがこれが落とし穴だった。降りる際の請求金額が明らかに高額なのだ。
通常、150元程が250元を請求された。メーターは250元だが、領収書の切れ端が表示を隠して途中で確認できなかった。
操作しているのだろう。
この頃(2012～2013年)は日本政府の尖閣列島領有化の影響で中国政府が対日強硬姿勢を取っていた時期で、
日本人には警察や公安が動かないとドライバーも高を括っている。ホテル内の中国人上司を呼んだが結局は払う羽目になった。

Taxis that are gathered at Shanghai Pudong International Airport don't want to go to the Pudong area.
One time, my Chinese boss arrived in Shanghai first and I came later.
When I caught a taxi and I found the driver didn’t show unpleasant attitude and didn’t reject to go to the Pudong area.
I thought he was good driver, but this was a trap. The amount billed when getting off was obviously high.
Normally about 150 yuan was charged, but it was 250 yuan.
I couldn’t check the meter on the way because the scrap of the receipt hid the display.
It was my guess, but the driver operated the meter to show the higher bill,
or it kept to show 250 yuan during driving.
Around this time (2012-2013),
the Chinese government took a hard-line stance against Japan due to the Japanese government's sovereignty over the Senkaku Islands,
and taxi drivers believed that police didn’t do anything for Japanese.
I called the Chinese boss in the hotel, but ended up paying.
