深圳香格里拉大酒店は羅湖口岸と鉄道の羅湖駅にも直結していて大変便利な立地であったが、それ以上に便利なことがあって多用していた。
それはLINEやGoogleが使えるのだ。中国国内ではLINEは使えずWeChatが、Googleに代わってBaidoを使わされる。
LINEやGoogleは中国の国策で使えなくしている。
ただ、深圳香格里拉大酒店ではこれらが使える。最初は目と鼻の先にある香港側からWi-Fiが飛んできているのかと思ったが、
どうもそうではなくホテルのWi-Fiがグレートファイヤウォールと言う中国全土のインターネットを包み込む壁の外にあるようなのだ。
検索はGoogleでなくとも可能であるが、LINEは連絡には必須である。中国国内ではこの上なく便利な通信環境を備えたホテルだ。

The Shenzhen Shangri-La Hotel was directly connected to the Luohu port and the Luohu railway station,
so it was in a very convenient location, but it was more convenient than that, so I used it a lot.
LINE and Google can be used for that. LINE cannot be used in China, WeChat should be used instead of LINE,
and Baidu should be used instead of Google. LINE and Google are disabled by China's national policy.
However, we can use them at the Shenzhen Shangri-La Hotel.
At first, I thought that the Wi-Fi was covered from the Hong Kong side, which is just a stone's throw away,
but that was not the case. It seemed that the Wi-Fi network of the Shenzhen Shangri-La was out of the
‘Great Firewall’ which protected from the information of world-wide network and was covered throughout China.
Search is possible without Google, but LINE is essential for contact.
It is a hotel with the most convenient communication environment in China.
