2022年6月26日 香りと記憶8 ホテルの香り1

かつて、ホテル宿泊の多くは出張時で滞在時間も短く内部の匂いなどは然程、気にならなかったが、時間に余裕ができてくると、 匂いは結構、重要であることに気付くようになった。
フィリピンの定宿などは客室含めアロマの良い香りであった。 中国では高級ホテルへの宿泊は稀であったが、たまに五つ星ホテルでも香りに気を使っているところは稀であった。 前述の五家尭輝煌国際大酒店(Wujiayao Hotel)と言う北京郊外のあるホテルは五つ星だが香りには無頓着であった一方、 光明飯店(Guang Ming Hotel)は四つ星ながら香りにも気を使っていた。 上海の和平飯店(Peace Hotel)はかなり前なので良く覚えていないが、 深圳の福田及び羅湖の香格里拉(Shangri-la)はさすがと思わせる香りへの気遣いであった。

Scent and memory 8: Hotel scent 1, June 26th, 2022

In the past, most of my stays in hotels were for business trips, and I didn't really care about the smells inside, but as I started to have more time, I started to realize that smells are quite important.
The regular lodgings in the Philippines had a good aroma, including the guest rooms. In China, staying in luxury hotels was rare, but even five-star hotels rarely paid attention to fragrance. The previously mentioned Wujiayao Hotel, a hotel in the suburbs of Beijing, was five stars but did not pay attention to fragrance, while the Guang Ming Hotel was four stars but also paid attention to fragrance. My stays in the Peace Hotel in Shanghai was a long time ago, so I don't remember it well, but the Futian in Shenzhen and the Shangri-la in Luohu were really thoughtful about the scent.
