2022年6月23日 香りと記憶7 スーパーマーケットの花の香り
フィリピンには通称SM(シューマート)やロビンソン等のスーパーマーケットのチェーンがある。
品物も豊富で陳列棚は整然としておりとても買い物がし易い。
不思議なのは例外なく店内は花の香りがすることだ。最初、洗濯用洗剤の香りが充満しているのかと思ったが、
店内は売り場に関係なくこの香りがする。思い返せばアメリカのスーパーマーケットも同じような香りがした。
きっと、魚や肉、野菜や果物を扱うので匂いが混ざり合って充満するため、芳香剤を使っているのだと思うのだが、
アメリカの影響が強いフィリピン、きっとこれを真似ているのだと思う。
今でも人工的な花の香りがするとフィリピンのスーパーマーケットを思い出す。

In the Philippines, there are supermarket chains such as SM (Shoemart) and Robinson.
Goods are abundant, and display shelf is orderly and is very easy to do shopping.
The strange thing is that without exception, the inside of the store smells of flowers.
At first, I thought it was filled with the scent of laundry detergent,
but the store has this scent regardless of the sales floor.
In retrospect, American supermarkets also smelled the same.
I'm sure they use air fresheners because they sell fish, meat, vegetables and fruits,
so the smell mixes and fills them. Even now, the smell of artificial flowers reminds me of supermarkets in the Philippines.
