2022年4月9日 アメリカ人も隣の真似をする? 空港の駐車場にて
アメリカに良く出張しており、ダラス近郊を拠点に米国各地を訪ねていた。
その日はニューヨークへ出掛ける件があり、日帰りなのでレンタカーを空港に置いた。
ダラス・フォートワース空港は広大で駐車場も広いが、空きスペースを必死で探す時もある。
その日は早朝だったので直ぐに駐車できた。
ニューヨークからは夜の8時頃戻った。出発時はフライト時間が迫っていたので、無意識に日本と同じくバックで駐車してしまった。
通常、アメリカでは前から駐車するが、驚いたことに周囲の車も殆どがバックで駐車していた。
アメリカ人達もバックで駐車する、右へ倣えもするんだな、と新発見。周囲に流されて行動するのは日本人だけかと思ったが。

I often traveled to the United States and visited various parts of the United States based in the suburbs of Dallas.
I had to go to New York that day, so I left my rental car at the airport because it was a day trip.
Dallas / Fort Worth Airport is vast and has a large parking lot, but sometimes I desperately search for empty space.
It was early morning that day so I was able to park immediately.
I returned from New York around 8 pm. The flight time was approaching at the time of departure,
so I unknowingly parked from the back as in Japan. Normally, in the United States, people park from the front,
but to our surprise, most of the surrounding cars were parked from the back.
It was a new discovery that Americans also park from the back and imitate to the neighboring manner.
I thought that only Japanese people would be swept away and act.
