2022年1月23日 モスリム向けハンバーガー
アルジェでは食事を含めて駐在員事務所の方々のお世話になった。ある日、皆さん忙しく昼食時間も取れないでいたため所長のお勧めでハンバーガーを食べに出た。
ん? アルジェリアはイスラム教信仰で牛は食べないはずだがハンバーガー? と疑問に思いながら店に着いた。
英語の表示もあったのでとにかく決めて頼んだ。出てきたものはバゲット、当時の日本風の呼び名ではフランスパン、に焼肉の挟まったサンドイッチだった。
肉はラムであろうが、バゲットの長さは30～40cmはあろうか。飲み物は甘いアイスティーでコーラではなかった。
バゲットの中のゴキブリを探すべきか迷ったが、既にホテル朝食で麻痺しておりそのままかぶりついた。結構、イケた!
Hamburger for muslims, January 23rd, 2022
At Algiers, I was taken care of by the people in the representative office, including meals.
One day, everyone was too busy to have lunch, so I went out to eat a hamburger at the recommendation of the office manager.
Hmm? Algeria is a Muslim belief and shouldn't eat cows, but I arrived at the store wondering if it was a hamburger.
There was also an English display, so I decided and asked for it anyway. What came out was a baguette,
French bread by a Japanese-style name at the time, and a sandwich with grilled meat sandwiched between them.
The meat might be lamb, but the baguette might be 30-40 cm long. The drink was sweet iced tea, not cola.
I was wondering if I should look for the cockroach in the baguette, but I was already paralyzed at the hotel breakfast and I just got stuck.
It was pretty nice!
